Coming back to RO after a 14ish year gap, jumped from server to server, this has been the most enjoyable experience so far. low rates, active community, plenty of opportunities as a new player to get involved and establish a foothold. Do recommend for the oldschool feel, the balance changes for classes are tastefully done imo, and the custom content isnt intrusive if thats not your thing.

First server I play with character customization. I'm glad the GM staff actually works to balance everything constantly. The server population is good enough. Started playing on this server like 2 months ago and was greeted by a very friendly community that helped me out starting my first Character. The 1x rates (more like 1.5xish due to custom balancing) and the early patch progression feels like im playing Ragnarok like it was back in 2004. The staff is very friendly and available when needed. The custom content and balance changes feel very good especially because the players give constant feedback on the changes.

This server has generally pleasant players and helpful staff, who promptly address concerns via the Discord ticket system. Both custom and official content are available, although updates might not meet everyone's expectations. The absence of donations or pay-to-win elements ensures a fair playing field. Staff volunteer their time, and do their best to maintain the server. Additionally, the rebalanced EXP system facilitates solo or small-party leveling to higher tiers.

Terrible server to play on. GM Devastate is probably one of the worst GM's to ever run a server in all the RO servers I've ever played on. A complete disgrace to the RO community. Hides comments and deletes players comments that do not fit his narrative. If you are a WoE guild interested in playing here run away now, he has the maturity of a 12 year old and plays favoritism and bias games with the guilds he doesn't like. Joke of a server. Don't waste your time.

Great low rate server! The class rebalance renews the game experience, making it much more fun to play different builds. Many skills got different effects, like assassin's Poison React which gives sustain for the class. I really like these changes, makes me want to try many builds!

The server has friendly international community. Classes are rebalanced to allow wide variety of viable build. Class changes are hugely influenced by player feedback and usually undergo extensive testing before making it into live server. Server holds seasonal events for cosmetic rewards, which last long enough for no one to miss the opportunity

A classic experience reimagined. Do not let the lack of transcendent classes demotivate you from joining the server. Payon Stories is pretty much unique in the way the admin team has made sensible changes to the base classes that finally make a lot of builds more viable and fun to play, without straying too far from the original class design. From trying out different builds to the seasonal events and custom dungeons, you will have a lot to keep you entertained in this friendly community.

I've been playing purist low rate servers for 20 years, never touched foot on servers with even the slightest custom content, and yet I'm loving every moment on PS. It is extremely custom but so well done, capturing the essence of good classic RO and elevating it to another level. This is a special server that deserves a chance. You will not regret it.

This review is based on my gameplay experience. The server offers enganing content with GMs dedicated to improving gameplay, but lacks the promised low-rate experience due to a focus on fast leveling and farming in static parties. Community interaction is lacking, with player prioritizing efficiency over camaraderie. Enjoyable quests stand out, but MVP encounters are often ruined by repetitive tactics (monks using Asura Strike). Join with friends for a better experience.
